Why choose Good Pickin’ Farm Education?

Why Good Pickin Farm Education

At Good Pickin’ Farm, we believe that learning should be a joyful, engaging partnership between students, teachers, and peers. Our multi-age classroom is rich in integrated, thematic learning. Students at Good Pickin’ Farm are driven to become creative, critical thinkers, empathetic friends, mindful leaders and lifelong learners.

The School House builds its curriculum around overarching themes each year. The 2021-22 school year’s theme was “Our Farm: Past, Present & Future”. Over the course of the school year, the class will study three unique themes. These themes change from year to year depending on class makeup and interest. They often connect to the natural world in some way and always provide rich content and cross-curricular links to engage children in their studies.

At Good Pickin’ Farm, our goal is for every child to feel included, supported, inspired and accomplished.

Interdisciplinary Instruction & Multi-Aged Classroom

It is our belief that interdisciplinary instruction for mixed ages provides an optimal learning environment for young learners. Our multi-age classroom creates a diverse learning environment for children to learn from both teachers and peers - we celebrate each child as an individual person who is free to develop at their own pace, regardless of age.

The students of Good Pickin’ Farm learn both independently and from one another while progressing at their own pace. Each child receives what he/she needs at that time on their education journey, becoming active participants in their own learning with their Unique Learning Plan - a plan for individual instruction that each student receives after a meeting with the teachers & parents.  Our multi-age environment invites collaboration, mentoring, and leadership. At Good Pickin’ Farm, we want each child to succeed and flourish in a positive, nurturing, and safe environment.
